The art of journaling is known as ‘keeping a diary’. Many choose to keep a journal for various reasons.
However, one’s definition may differ from another’s perspective. Although many diaries are for personal satisfaction, others use them for business purposes to maintain a historical record for posterity.
‘Writing a journal reminds you of your goals and learning in life. It offers a place where you can have a deliberate, thoughtful conversation with yourself’.
Below is a list of reasons people may choose to maintain a diary and why you should.
This is probably the primary reason you should keep a journal, to determine many facts about your past circumstances and events. Similarly, you can look at recorded history as a conglomeration of journals recorded by historians. Past records are all that we have to go on when we want to know history. If they are incorrect, the results can be disastrous. It is crucial to keep an accurate record of your activities.
Be honest in your expression and feelings, so when you are reflecting back, ponder your past situations and events. Recording thoughts and feelings will help you and even others to understand what you did, why and when, and it’s the beginning of leadership.
It helps when we communicate our feelings and problems to others. A journal offers an acceptable alternative to verbally venting your beliefs about people, places, or events taken place. The act of writing is also therapeutic because penning problems on paper is active; this is recorded in the mind of becoming a good habit.
Reflecting on past experiences helps brain plasticity to think better. Often it allows you to avoid repeating the same mistakes and focus on productivity in the future. Make the journal personal, as it will definitely be of great worth in future endeavours.
Sometimes people see journaling as an honest written self-assessment of situations in which you may have been involved, problems that you encountered, and the steps that you took to solve them. It is often used in the workplace so that the incoming replacement will have an excellent idea of what to expect during the performance of tasks.
Business Journal
Keeping a business journal is critical for your historical development and leadership success story. Most people do not have a business journal, and when they are successful, they do not have accurately recorded events to share as a fact with others. This becomes an issue of exaggeration when they try to recall and share their experiences.
Noting your experiences in a diary or writing a thesis is your personal choice and worth your prize. You may find it boring at first or even challenging to document your personal development, but one thing is for sure, you will be able to look back at it with appreciation.
We encourage you to adopt the process of journaling, whether to analyse your discipline, passion, and enthusiasm or simply to follow our direction to keep a record of your personal feelings as you learn new things. Write how you dealt with the hurdles and challenges; it’s all part of your entrepreneurial mindset development.
Many people may also face mind blocks at times, then writing how you felt about the challenges will help you to understand your mind in changing your attitude to succeed.

At the end of each ‘section,’ we would ask you to share your personal entrepreneurial development. It is unique to the program. Upon completion of the training, your journal becomes your trophy.
Diary
A diary is not a journal. You should also have a diary to plan by blocking off a few hours at a time regularly to study.
Complete at least one section per day to complete the level 1 certificate in 3 months. Using a diary is the power to plan and design your day as you want it. To achieve your purpose, you plan it so you have a personal reason to do it.
Look at your diary first thing in the morning; this will help you to plan better each day and change as you need to. Compare this with writing your journal at least from the latter part of your working day or at the very least as often as possible at the end of every day.
