The Digital World

The digital world of the internet has been around for over 30 years since the 1990s, learn to get used to it, or you will not only feel left out but be left out.

Left out of what you may ask?

Be left out of your future potential in the vast arena of the virtual world.  Technological advancements have gotten us to where we are today- with the world at our fingertips. The internet certainly has given us all kinds of opportunities and access to an abundant amount of information.

The phrase digital world is most commonly used when defining digital fluency and digital literacy. The digital world is the availability and use of digital tools to communicate, digital devices, smart devices and access the internet online or offline.

The digital transformation is profound, enduring and dynamic. Digital technologies are effortlessly crossing borders and revolutionizing economies. The unrelenting speed of change has caught not only the government but also businesses and others off-guard.

TYPES OF DIGITAL MEDIA

Paid Media

Among the types of Digital Media, Paid Media is the most popular.

It’s simply all media where you pay to have the news of you and your business or company spread. Every direct investment the brand makes enters this category, and the direction is for disclosure channels.

The goal behind Paid Media is for you to reach more audiences, making many people know about your brand.

To accomplish that, you invest in media to bring more awareness to the company, its campaigns, and its products/services.

Owned Media

Among the types of Digital Media, Owned Media is your company owns permanently.

It’s the channels that the brand keeps and, through them, generates explicit content about its products and services.

These channels also serve for engagement and lead education, as well as being informative from an institutional perspective.

We’re talking about websites, blogs, YouTube channels, social media pages, and anything else your company controls with its name.

If the brand owns this media, naturally, it invests in something that it owns without paying other companies to promote the business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIGITAL WORLD

An abundant mindset symbolized by a collaborative and cooperative approach, open-mindedness, gratitude, appreciation and trust are hallmarks of a digital and connected world. When organizations comprehend this, they can thrive in a digital world.

Multiple Social Media accounts

For many people, social media is an absolute no, or they avoid it like the plague.  Think again, your future is written somewhere in there. You have a personal obligation to discover it, or someone else will steal it from you.

To succeed online, social media is not only an absolute must but operating on several social media platforms is critical to your success.

The world no longer operates with one social media to gain a digital marketing advantage. The world of digital marketing is so competitive that every business finding itself on several platforms is a noticeable trend in our business entrepreneurs’ behaviour.

Based on your business ideas, analyse which social media would best serve your business, sign up and create a business profile on each.

Should you not have a business idea yet, still sign up on at least 4-5 social media platforms; this will provide you with an advantage whilst working online in your future online business or currently in a career.

In the future, all businesses will expect their employees to know how to operate and engage on social media on behalf of the enterprise.

This training is designed to help you succeed with digital marketing, you must commit to your success. Thus, it is NOT negotiable for you to create any less than 4-5 social media accounts as explained above.

Any less would mean failure as a 10-20-year-old strategy would no longer work; gone are the days of achieving massive expectations with only one social media account.  The world is more complex, and you must follow the trends that work from those gaining success online today.
